Intro to Nature Restoration Taster Day

Curious to learn how you can care for nature?

Join our free taster session in Nature Restoration, with Black Mountains College tutor Ceri Evans. Come along, chat with our friendly tutors, and have a go at our hands-on activities!

Our Taster Days give you a flavour of what our 10-week short courses are all about.

There’s so much wildlife to discover in your own backyard and neighbourhood. We’ll start by learning about fossils, habitats and how we can look after the living world around us.

What will I learn?

  • An introduction to exploring safely outside
  • Learn to identify the nature on your doorstep: plants and animals
  • Get a sense of what’s involved in restoration work: habitats surveys, planting and invasive species control

What to bring on the day:

  • Wear comfy, weather-appropriate clothes for being outdoors
  • A water bottle and packed lunch
  • Optional: notebook and pen

Why Study an Introduction to Nature Restoration?

After completing the taster session, students may be able to:

  • Progress onto our full-time Level 2 Nature Restoration diploma
  • Know a bit more about the nature on our doorstep and how to look after it
  • Progress onto our part time 10-week Intro to Nature Restoration course
