Discovery Day – 15th November

Saturday 15th November at The Old School, Talgarth from 10am – 1pm.

Join us for our Discovery Day in our brand-new teaching venue, The Old School.

This is a free event, everyone is welcome to join at no cost to you.

We will be showcasing our educational offers, including our one-year-long Diploma courses in partnership with NPTC Group of Colleges*:

Come and learn about our degree course: BA (Hons) Sustainable Futures: Arts, Ecology and Systems Change.

These courses are practical, hands-on, and multi-disciplined, which will help you develop a sustainable and rewarding career. Read more about the course content by following the links above.


What to Expect? 

Our Discovery Day will provide you with an insight into what BMC can offer you, as well as giving you the opportunity to get involved in our interactive activities.

  • Take part in hands-on woodworking activities and have a go on the ‘Shave Horse’ (weather permitting)
  • Meet and greet some of our friendly, knowledgeable Further Education and Higher Education tutors
  • Meet and chat to some of our students
  • Find out more information on all of our courses
  • Refreshments available

Scheduled Sessions:

10am – Welcome and refreshments

10.30am – 11.30am – Talks about Change in Practice, Regenerative Horticulture, Sustainable Coppicing and Greenwood Trades, Nature Restoration, Level 3 in Regenerative Horticulture, Level 3 (90-credit Diploma) in Forestry & Arboriculture and Level 2 Agroecology Traineeship

  • Discover more about the course content and meet the tutors & some students
  • Come and have a go on the ‘Shave Horse’
  • Q&A

11.30am – Break and Questions

  • Take a quick break, have a wander around, grab a snack and chat to us
  • Ask us any other questions you might have about our courses, student support, accommodation options, student finance and more

12pm – Higher Education

12.30pm – 1pm – Q&A Session
