Ruth is a gardener and veg grower with a background in Welsh farming policy and educational development for sustainable land management. She’s spent time growing vegetables for organic farms and restaurant kitchen gardens, and flowers for dried flower floristry.

Her interest in growing goes hand-in-hand with her academic work. Her Master’s research spanned topics such as agroecology, ecology, and systems thinking approaches, as well as the social and political aspects of both global and local food systems. Ruth is especially interested in how growing practices within horticulture can make the most of natural systems, to build more secure and sustainable ways of producing food and plants.
