Patrick left school in 1979 and two days later started his first job working at an equestrian centre. Qualifying as a horse-riding instructor, Patrick then spent 5 very happy years working freelance before changing career direction to enter the world of transport, warehousing and logistics. A period that would last just under the next 40 years and see Patrick take on many challenges and responsibilities.

Patrick is now semi-retired and in September 2025 accepted the position of part-time Minibus Driver at the Black Mountains College. In Patrick’s spare time, he enjoys walking and researching family history.
