Marty began his environmental journey as a conservation volunteer, learning to care for urban woodlands while trying every kind of biscuit available. He then moved into environmental education and from there into school learning support, working with young people from 6 months to 16 years old. Upon returning to Wales, he supported the community of Caerphilly with allotmenting, woodwork and neighbourhood improvement projects before retraining as a carpenter to work on eco-builds and theatrical scenery. As these near completion, he has joined the college to support the community of Treherbert. One of his passions is helping people to realise their own abilities and grow in their lives.
