WHAT TO EXPECT?
Our Open Day will provide you with an insight into what BMC & Welcome to our Woods can offer you, as well as giving you the opportunity to get involved in our interactive activities.
- Find out more about all of our courses and different locations
- Meet and greet some of our fabulous, knowledgeable staff
- Wander across to our woodland teaching space, and join us on a walk-through town up to the Penyrenglyn Project building to see the horticulture plot & orchard.
- Have a go on our shave horse (weather permitting)
- Refreshments available
- Find out about any of our upcoming events within the community
Regenerative horticulture tutor, Ruth will be here showing you how to sow seeds, with the opportunity for you to have a go and take home the plant to grow on yourself. She’ll also be demonstrating how to test your own soil to figure out whether you have sandy, silty or clay soil.
Our Tutor Ceri will be providing information on green woodworking and showing you how to make hazel flowers. Come and have a go on our shavehorse and learn how to shave and cut down wood.
SCHEDULED SESSIONS:
11am – Welcome and refreshments
11.30am – 1pm – Learn about our Diplomas in Regenerative Horticulture, Forestry and Arboriculture, Nature Restoration and Land-Based Studies. Come and take part in our workshops delivered by our Tutors.
1.00pm – 2pm – Q+A’s and Tour
