Skills for Sustainable Futures

Black Mountains College, Grange Pavilion Youth Forum, and Global Gardens invite you to explore what role you can play in a world where people and the planet can thrive together.

What skills do we need and what is the right thing to do for you, society, and the planet?

During this workshop we will map out what we do and don’t know about a future impacted by climate change, and you will gain an understanding of different scenarios that we need to collectively prepare for. Together we will imagine positive futures and work back to the present to explore what we can do now.

As part of the afternoon, you will also hear from Nirushan Sudarsan from the Youth Forum about youth leadership, campaigning and making careers choices. Black Mountains College will share more about studying our degree: ‘Sustainable Futures: Arts, Ecology and Systems Change’.

• Anyone passionate about making a difference in the world.
• Anyone thinking about the world of work and education at a time of uncertainty and ecological crisis.
• This event is for people of all ages and backgrounds.
• The workshop is not discipline or subject limited; it is for people with a passion for science, or the arts, or more vocational interests.
