Climate Adaptation for Creatives

Designed for professionals in the cultural and creative industries, this programme will explore the role of arts in climate and environmental action.

The programme follows a peer-learning approach that celebrates the experience of all participants and encourages you to learn in your own context and from each other. The learning will take place over 20 weeks, in a carefully curated online environment with engaging resources, expert led sessions and experiential activities that take ideas off the page and into the wild.

You will pursue your own interests and develop solutions that suit your skillset and context. Using all your senses, you will supercharge your ability to creatively respond to the challenges of these times, reimagining the practice of arts and seeding stories for positive futures.

Who is it for?

This is an open call for individuals in the Wider Europe region and the United Kingdom (England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, Turkey, Ukraine and Uzbekistan.)

This programme is for creative practitioners and those supporting the creative industries, with an established practice of 5 years plus, and passionate about the potential of the arts to contribute to a more sustainable future with none/some experience in this field.

What will you learn?

  • You will develop climate literacy: understand the causes of climate change, identify different climate scenarios, and how these will affect our lives, communities, and work.
  • Explore the role of the arts: Understanding the different ways in which the arts are driving the climate and ecological emergency, as well as how art practice is a force of positive change.
  • You will learn through immersive resources that help you reconnect to your natural environment and learn by doing.
  • You will explore what you can do in the face of the climate crisis through a practical project.
  • Learn and practice alongside supportive peers, forming a creative ecosystem of people across different countries, disciplines, and backgrounds.
  • Reimagine your career, organisation or business, and unlock the potential for meaningful action in a climate impacted world.
