Explore lavender though all the senses, experience a lavender foot bath, and make a scented lavender balm.

In this fun and activity-packed family course you will be guided to learn about lavender via techniques such as meditation, sensory learning, and balm making. You will take home your balm

Your ticket will grant you free access to the rest of the Lavender Farm and Festival! They are celebrating their 21st year of growing lavender by holding the very first Lavender Festival. You can sign up to tours of the farm and distillery demonstrations. You are welcome to enjoy a swim in the wild swimming pond, hot & cold drinks & cake in the cafe, or bring your own picnic to enjoy on the farm and take in the spectacular views.

 

You will:

  • Learn to use all the senses to get to know lavender: taste, colour, smell.
  • Experience a lavender foot bath
  • Use word and rhythm to explore lavender
  • Learn how to make a healing lavender balm
  • Make a decorated origami basket for your balm.

Who is this for?

This is workshop is for adults and children. All children need to be supervised by at least 1 adult and you need to buy a ticket for both child and adult.

Course instructors

Amanda Page is an experienced family learning tutor with a passion for herbs. Amanda has been a self-sufficient community herbalist for the past six years and loves sharing her knowledge so everyone can get to know plants.

Joanne Price is a tutor at Black Mountains College interested in creating spaces to encounter trees, plants, and herbs. Jo has taught in areas of ecological education for thirty years and loves working with eco-poetry to help shape explorations and make the Earth everywhere and always, a locale of lletygarwch hospitality.

If you buy your ticket online you will have free access to the Lavender Farm and Festival. You will also be able to purchase a ticket on the door, but places on the course are limited, so get your ticket in advance here to avoid disappointment!

Wear suitable, weather-dependent clothing, and something to sit on like a blanket or cushion.
