Water Harvesting, Reuse and Conservation Short Course

Learn how to harvest and recycle water for food cultivation and household use; design and construct your own systems.

As climate change puts increasing stress upon our water supplies conserving water, harvesting rainwater and using our greywater are simple ways to reduce our water consumption and have alternatives when water supplies are rationed during times of scarcity. Expect a couple of hours of presentations, followed by group problem-solving sessions to apply your learning and learn from each other.

You will learn:

  • Why water harvesting, reuse and conservation is increasingly critical
  • Water saving techniques
  • How water harvesting and grey water systems work
  • How to design, build and operate systems that are feasible and affordable
  • What systems you can purchase, and how to install a simple systems not available
  • Some basic plumbing skills
  • About regulations and risks involved in these water systems.

 

Key Information

Date – Saturday 25th May from 9.30am – 5pm

Location – Troed yr Harn, Talgarth. We operate a car-free campus and we will meet at Talgarth Car Park at 9:30am to walk up to the campus together. If you have mobility issues, then please contact us and we will arrange for you to be able to drive to the campus.
