Talgarth Talks – Mike Berners-Lee

If we have the technology we need to resist climate breakdown, why are we still accelerating into a polycrisis of climate, food security, biodiversity, pollution and inequality?

After three decades of climate COPs, our global emissions are worse than ever. What, exactly, has been holding us back? What will it take for us to do better? Joining us to explore these questions is bestselling author of There is No Planet B, Mike Berners-Lee, who looks at the challenge from new angles in his new book A Climate of Truth. Here he proposes that honesty in our politics, media and businesses could be the most critical step in having radically more impact.

He is a professor at Lancaster University where he develops practical tools for thinking about the future and researches the global food system, carbon metrics and the role of technology.
