Are you keen to help secure a sustainable future?

Do you want to help others learn to live in a warming world?

Apply to join our board of trustees!

BMC offers a new model of education, making it more relevant to students and to the rapidly changing world, empowering students to change the world, rather than be moulded by it. We offer vocational further education, a unique undergraduate degree and short courses on radical adaptation to the current crisis.

BMC is a registered charity operated as a company limited by guarantee. The board of directors of the company are also trustees of the charity. To help us grow we need a range of voices and perspectives on our Board.

We offer:

    • A mentoring system for buddying new or inexperienced trustees with more experienced board members
    • Per diems for those on lower incomes
    • Travel reimbursement for attendance at in person meetings where needed
    • The chance to shape an inspiring and innovative new college that is breaking new ground in education and social change

We expect:

    • Attendance at board meetings four times a year, at least one of which will be in person and with additional meetings as needed
    • Some participation in sub-committees on education, finance, land use, appointments
    • An active engagement with students and staff of the college when called upon to share your unique perspective or insights
    • Adherence to our policies and the Nolan principles on standards in public life.

We are particularly keen to recruit members with expertise in one or more of the following areas:

    1. Experience of organic/agro-ecology/agro-forestry farming in Wales;
    2. Senior experience of teaching and management in UK higher or further education
    3. Welsh Language speakers
