Come join us for tree-planting fun! We’ll be planting a shelter belt for biodiversity and creating a brand-new woodland.
This one-day course will provide an introduction to the importance of trees considering planting objectives, species selection and tree care.
Who will I learn from?
Jed Needs
Jed is a tutor on our Coppicing and Greenwood Trades NVQ. He is also chair of the Talgarth Community Woodland Group and a director of The Green Valleys CIC.
Rob Bamford
Rob is our very experienced Farm Manager at Troed yr Harn!
Jenny Tyler
Jenny is one of our Horticulture NVQ students, and she is also our Site Manager at Troed yr Harn.

Dates and booking
- Saturday 18th March from 10am – 3pm meeting at Talgarth Carpark and planting at Troed yr Harn Farm
No need to book, just turn up on the day! We will be meeting at 10am at Talgarth Car Park on each of the above dates, before walking to the planting site together. If you are unable to walk to site, we will organise lift shares from the car park.
You should wear suitable, weather dependent PPE including gloves and good, sturdy boots if possible.
Please bring a water bottle and a packed lunch for a picnic at the farm. Tea and coffee facilities available at Troed yr Harn. Please bring a flask on 11th February.
